Throb chronic migraine diary

Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 October 2026

The short version: Throb does not collect, sell or share your data. There are no accounts, no developer servers, no analytics and no third-party SDKs in the app. What you log stays on your device, and in your own private iCloud only if you turn on iCloud sync.

Who we are

Throb (the "App") is a migraine and headache diary for iPhone and Apple Watch, published by Evatech Innovations. This policy explains how the App handles your information.

What the App stores

The records you create — attacks, pain levels, medication doses, symptoms, triggers, head-map pain locations, notes and similar entries — are stored in the App's database on your iPhone. We never receive them.

iCloud sync (optional, off by default)

If you turn on iCloud sync, your entries are stored in your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so they can appear on your other devices. That database belongs to your Apple Account; we cannot see or access it. Turning sync off stops it. Data read from Apple Health (sleep and cycle day) is never synced: it stays on the device that read it.

Apple Health (optional)

With your permission, the App reads sleep and menstrual-cycle data from Apple Health and can write your logged headache events back to it. This happens on your device. Health data is never stored in iCloud, never sent to us, never used for advertising and never shared or sold. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings › Health.

Barometric pressure

The App reads air pressure from your iPhone's built-in barometer to show a pressure trend and, if you turn them on, alerts about sharp drops. This happens on your device and involves no location or personal data.

Pressure forecast and location (optional, off by default)

If you turn on the pressure forecast, the App asks once for your approximate location while you use it and fetches an hourly pressure forecast from Apple WeatherKit. The location is used only for that request. It is not stored with your entries, not kept as a history and not shared with us. The forecast is cached on your device for about an hour. You can turn the forecast off and revoke location access at any time.

Notifications

Reminders and alerts (preventive-medication reminders, "did it help?", pressure-drop alerts) are local notifications scheduled on your device. They are all optional.

Apple Watch

The Watch app talks only to the iPhone app on your paired iPhone, using Apple's on-device WatchConnectivity.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

None. The App contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services and no third-party SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites. The App's Privacy Manifest reflects this.

Purchases

The App's one-time purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.

Backups, export, import and sharing

The App keeps automatic backups on your device and can export a doctor's report (PDF), CSV or JSON, or import a file you choose. These files are created and read on your device and go only where you send them. Once you share a file, it leaves the App's control.

Deleting your data

You can delete single entries in the App, erase everything in Settings, or delete the App to remove its data from that device. If you used iCloud sync, you can also delete the App's data from iCloud in iOS Settings › [your name] › iCloud.

This website

throb.evatech.app counts page views and App Store link clicks in its own database. It sets no cookies and stores no IP address or user agent; a visitor is a hash that changes every day, so visits cannot be followed across days.

Children

The App is a general-audience health tool and is not directed to children. We do not collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
